December 26, 2007 Dear Church Members and Pastors, We are so excited about having you all come and join us for our sixth annual Bonnerdale YouthFest. You all have been in our thoughts and our prayers for some time now. We have been designing this weekend to be an experience for young people that will help them experience God in such a way that they will come away Transformed by the love Jesus and who He is. This year YouthFest will be held from February 1-3, 2008, and is limited to youth ages 13-18. Everything will begin Friday evening, February 1 at 7:00 p.m. Southwestern Adventist University, Ozark Adventist Academy, Jefferson Academy, and Ouachita Hills Academy will be here for the weekend to provide information and give away some prizes. SWAU has generously offered to give away two $500 scholarships and will be having a drawing for these and other prizes Saturday night. We just want to pass a few details on to you so that everything on the poster makes sense to you. The registration fee of $25 covers 4 meals (3 on Saturday and one on Sunday morning), the Saturday evening concert, and one T-shirt. If you could have your registration forms sent in by January 18 that would be helpful for us in knowing an approximate number and sizes of t-shirts to order. You will need to bring sleeping bags and towels and stuff, and your youth groups will be able to stay in our heated gymnasium on the carpeted floor. Running water and bathrooms with showers are available. Our featured speaker for the weekend is Brandon Westgate. He is currently serving as a pastor in Conway, Clinton, and Searcy, Arkansas. He has been involved in youth ministry for many years, serving as the youth pastor at the Little Rock SDA Church for a number of years, as well serving as camp pastor for Camp Yorktown Bay a number of different times. His down-to-earth, genuine ministry inspires young people to live their faith for Christ. His theme this year is Transformed. Our featured musical guest will be Elia King. He has traveled and done Christian music and ministry all over the US for the past 10 years and has recorded four different albums. The two latest albums, entitled Reaching (2001) and Less is More (2005), are solo projects that provide a unique and uplifting Christian message and has acoustic guitar for accompaniment. His music focuses on helping people to develop a closer walk with God with an emphasis on living a simper life. He will be performing throughout the weekend and having a special concert Saturday night. Another musical artist that will be performing Friday evening is Maria Long. Her debut album Here With Me has received national attention. She was our featured artist last year, but since has been named one of the top 15 independent Christian artists in the nation by CCM Magazine. Included are two forms that you need to fill out. The registration form needs to be filled out with the names of all the students and sponsors in your group that you are bringing. The consent form needs to be copied and filled out by each teen and a parent. These consent forms cover permission to treat the teens in a medical emergency while here at YouthFest. Your teens can visit our myspace at www.myspace.com/bonnerdaleyouthfest. Extra forms and posters will be available to be printed at www.arklayouthministries.com. For answers to further questions, you may contact me on my cell at (870) 356-7978 or by email at pastorryanlong@gmail.com . An additional information sheet has been included for directions to the Bonnerdale SDA Church and for hotel information if you would prefer not to stay in our gymnasium. We are praying for you all and look forward to seeing you soon. Blessings, |
